Everything you need to know about Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a non-contagious chronic autoimmune condition that speeds up the lifecycle of the skin cells. This skin condition is believed to be the result of a sped-up skin production process.  In general, the skin cells grow deep in the skin and then slowly and gradually rise to the skin surface, and then eventually they fall off. The normal life cycle of a skin cell is one month. In the case of people suffering from Psoriasis, this process may occur in just a few days, due to which skin cells don’t have time to fall off. The overproduction of skin cells leads to a build of skin cells. According to Dr. Geeta Gera, who is a skin specialist in Indirapuram, Psoriasis is not a curable disease, but it is controllable with medications.
